Responsible gambling

Plain-language definition for casino players.

Responsible gambling refers to a set of self-protection tools and behaviours that keep casino play from becoming a financial or mental-health problem. Built-in tools at licensed casinos: deposit limits (daily/weekly/monthly), loss limits, session time limits, reality-check pop-ups every 30-60 minutes, cool-off periods (24h to 6 weeks), and permanent self-exclusion.

External resources: GamCare (gamcare.org.uk, UK), BeGambleAware (begambleaware.org), Gambling Therapy (gamblingtherapy.org), and national helplines. If you find yourself chasing losses, hiding play from family, or borrowing to gamble, stop and reach out — these are documented signs of disordered gambling and trained help is free and confidential. 18+ only.
