Self-exclusion

Plain-language definition for casino players.

Self-exclusion is a player-initiated account block for problem-gambling protection. When you trigger it, the casino disables login, refunds any pending deposits, and ignores any new account attempts from the same identity for the selected duration (commonly 24 hours, 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, or permanent).

Self-exclusion is non-reversible during the active period — that's the point. UK and Malta licences require operators to honor the central self-exclusion register (GAMSTOP in the UK). Offshore Curaçao operators run self-exclusion per-operator only — blocking yourself at one casino doesn't carry over to another. If gambling is causing problems, use self-exclusion alongside calling a national helpline.
